Participate in FY2020 Virtual Power Plant (VPP) construction demonstration project ~Frequency coordination and optimum control system with home storage battery, EV and HP water heater~
Shizen Energy Inc. (Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Directors: Ken Isono, Kenji Kawado, Masaya Hasegawa, hereinafter “Shizen Energy”) applied to “FY2020 Virtual Power Plant Construction Demonstration Project That Utilizes Demand-side Energy Resources (VPP Aggregator Project),” for which a public offering was made by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the application was approved on May 29. It is for the second consecutive year that Shizen Energy participates in the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) construction demonstration project. (*1)
Shizen Energy will participate in a demonstration project as a resource aggregator (*2) and conduct multi-use control demonstrations which perform frequency (in seconds) control with home energy storage batteries, industrial storage batteries and Electric Vehicles (EVs), while performing dynamic pricing-linked optimal control . Shizen Energy is also planning to conduct optimal control for dynamic pricing using a heat pump (HP) water heater.
In order to aim for a 100% renewable-powered planet, Shizen Energy launched the Energy Tech business based on the belief that not only the development of renewable energy power sources, but also a mechanism for balancing the supply and demand of renewable energy power sources is essential. We will accelerate achieving a “100% renewable-powered planet” by further promoting distributed power supply systems into regions.
