Shizen International New Executive Structure

Shizen International Inc., a group company of Shizen Energy Inc. that oversees the international business of the Shizen Energy Group, including development and operation of renewable energy power plants in 10 countries outside of Japan covering areas including Southeast Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, has announced a change in its executive structure effective November 1, 2024.

Through the appointment of Kenji Kawado as Representative Director and CEO of Shizen International, the company is well positioned to strengthen its global impact. His leadership will be instrumental in strengthening key partnerships across Asia, broadening their international network and reinforcing the commitment to advancing the Shizen Energy Group’s vision both in Japan and globally, amplifying their purpose to take action for the blue planet.

Hiroki Koga, former Representative Director of Shizen International, continues to serve as the Director of Business Operations at Shizen Energy Inc. In this role, he oversees the Energy Creation Business Unit, which drives the development of renewable energy power plants in Japan and international markets, as well as the Carbon Free Solutions Business Unit, which supports clients in their decarbonization efforts. Rei Ushikubo, who previously served as CEO, remains the Director of the Carbon Free Solutions Business Unit at Shizen Energy, where she leads the group’s initiatives to support corporate clients in their journey toward sustainability and carbon neutrality.

Both Hiroki and Rei will also play a key role in the continued business growth of Shizen International, leveraging their expertise in the sectors they oversee at Shizen Energy.

Biography of Newly Appointed Executive
Kenji Kawado
Co-founder and Representative Director of Shizen Energy Inc. After graduating from university, Kenji joined a wind power generation company where he was involved in the development, financing and project management of wind farms throughout Japan. In June 2011, following the Great East Japan Earthquake, he co-founded Shizen Energy Inc. and became Representative Director. He has overseen key functions including investment & strategy, corporate management, finance, accounting and tax affairs. He led the capital raising of over 74 billion yen in 2022.
