Business Overview
Kyushu is rich in natural resources such as land, water, wind, geothermal heat and biological resources, and has many suitable locations for the development of renewable energy. It also has good sunlight conditions, making it an ideal environment for solar power development. However in recent years we are seeing issues with curtailment and there is a need for technological development aimed at the efficient use of energy.
To address decarbonization and regional resilience in the Kyushu region with a sense of urgency, Nishitetsu, which has been operating from Kyushu for over 110 years, and Shizen Energy, which has been developing and supporting renewable energy businesses in Japan and overseas for over 10 years, have jointly established NNR Shizen Energy G.K.
At Nishitetsu Shizen Energy, Nishitetsu will provide information through its regional network, implement the system at its own group facilities, and utilize idle land, while Shizen Energy will provide services such as business development, construction, and O&M. The companies will promote the development of on-site and off-site PPAs, grid-connected storage batteries, and energy management systems, and aim to complete 30 MW of renewable power generation facilities by FY2025 (6.5 MW by the end of FY2023).
